Last day at Glastonbury is the most fun stage to perform .Over the years, Lost Vagueness has picked up a reputation for being the most anarchic and culturally twisted location at the festival, a place where performers and guests languish together in the warped decadence of the surroundings.

Legendary Ska outfit "The Beat"
We all ended up down in Brixton lastnight on the suggestion of my hippie/tree hugging mate Roland.

The venue was The Jamm, the event was a tsunami benefit/fund raiser and the acts included the legendary 80's ska group "The Beat" and Thailand's premiere ska/reggae outfit "T Bone."

To be honest I'm not much of a fan of ska - it pisses me off like hardhouse. Im not feeling the rhythm in it, I prefer reggae and the general deeper soundscape it creates. Ska's very fast and comically nonsensical at times - you just gotta look at its followers - and the way they dance.

What intrigued me more about lastnight was the fact that "The Beat" were playing in Brixton - I was visualising old school 80's BNP days and the riots and stuff - i.e Madness, "This Town is a Ghost Town" etc. They came on and fuckin ripped it - saxaphones, guitars, stacatto beats, the lot. The crowd was quite old - late 30's which clearly was evidence of the hardcore support this band has. Go check them out if your into British dance music - serious...blueprint business right here.

The Thai band "T Bone" were the band of choice for me. They played alot more reggae and were much better musically than "The Beat." I wouldnt have thought ska, of all sounds would've landed in thailand - these guys certainly gave off the impression they knew a thing or two.

Interesting evening. Bigup the school reunion crew!
